Owners, Operators and Guides at Captain Zipline Adventure Tours

zipline guide with young childBriteways, LLC owns the Mining Claims where Captain Zipline, LLC operates our zipline tour. Monty Holmes, Salida local runs the above companies, and over the last decade has been developing heritage and recreation attractions for visitors looking for adventure experiences in Central Colorado.

Experienced zipline guides lead all zipline cable rides.

The Captain Zipline team includes professionals from many adventure disciplines including:  rock climbing, ice climbing, ski patrol, spelunking, horseback outfitting, skin, scuba and cave diving, kayaking and whitewater rafting.

Ongoing experience and training continues on a daily basis as our techniques regarding customer comfort and safety are co

nstantly reviewed, scrutinized, updated and improved.

Captain Zipline has developed a new hand braking technique that is considerably safer and more comfortable than ones used in Costa Rican canopy tours, the birthplace of tourist zip line tours over 20 years ago.

During our first year in the zip line tour business, we have never had to implement a rescue plan for a stranded zipliner.

Our cables have been carefully engineered, designed, inspected to assure our visitor’s safe zipline thrills.

Everyone receives individual orientation on our “bunny zip line cables” along with a question and answer session to assure that no one leaves the practice zip lines until they are ready and willing to go zip line touring.

Your first bunny zip trip! Our visitors can play on this 80 ft. cable as long as needed.

It’s not that hard to do.  You are only four feet off the ground.  Riding a zip line “ is like bowling and billiards—anyone can do it, but it takes practice to do it well.” says  Columbine Quillen of Colorado Central Magazine.

Zipline guides are a close-knit bunch.  Here we practice rescue techniques.

We have a plan! And practice makes perfect as our lead guide brings his guide buddies home.

Just the fear of being this close to your guide should keep our visitors flying correctly by themselves.

Regular periodic group training, review and practice striving for perfection.

Rescue gear in expert hands makes for a safe and secure zip line trip. ( No, we’re not sending beer and peanuts down the cable!)

Our guides practicing again.  What a great way to make a friend as once they’re roped in, they can’t get away.
