LOST CANYON ZIPLINE TOUR

Captain Zipline Lost Canyon Zipline Tour

The Lost Canyon Zip Line tour opened in 2005 and was heralded as the first of its kind in the State of Colorado and one of the first ten in the country. Situated in a stunning 200-foot deep canyon with complex 300-million-year-old orange limestone cliffs with folds and faults and prehistoric travertine soda straw formations, the zip line tour provides guests, age 6 years to active seniors in moderate to good health, the opportunity to step outside their comfort zones and soar over the canyon on six cables that get longer and faster as they gain confidence and the appetite for speed.

CANYON AERIAL COURSE

Canyon Aerial Course - Colorado Aerial Adventure Park

Located in a 200-foot high slot canyon, the Canyon Aerial Course offers scenic views and the opportunity for participants (age 6 years and older) in moderate to good health, to step outside their comfort zone and explore the canyon along a series of wobbly bridges, ropes swings, cargo nets, and sliding traverses.

The Canyon Aerial Course is a self-guided experience and makes use of the Bornack Smart Safe Belay (SSB) System. The SSB is designed to mitigate the risk of accidental detachment from the flexible lifeline system and to ensure participants remain connected to the overhead cables and/or secure anchors throughout their traverse. More than 100 challenge elements are strung between engineered poles. The park is further divided into 9 courses of varying difficulty, each with 8 to 13 elements.

VIA FERRATA

courses-Via-Ferrata-01

Via Ferrata (Italian for "iron road") is a mountain-climbing method that lets less experienced climbers enjoy views and adrenaline rushes usually reserved for elite climbers. Conceived during World War I, via ferrata allowed Italian soldiers from the flatlands to move quickly through the mountains as they fought the Austrians for higher ground. Today there are over 500 via ferrata climbing routes in Europe, enjoyed by locals and tourists alike, ages 12 and up. The "iron road" is now available in Colorado with the Captain Zipline Via Ferrata.

Located on the north-facing and south-facing limestone cliffs that surround the Canyon Adventure Course are four routes consisting of a series of traverses and climbs protected by flexible life lines. Climbers use special fall protection lanyards and are assisted by stainless steel rungs, bolts, and ladders.
